INTEGRATING DIGITAL TOOLS IN TASK-BASED ESL CLASSROOMS: MEASURING LEARNER ENGAGEMENT AND SPEAKING FLUENCY

This study investigates the impact of integrating digital tools in task-based ESL classrooms on learner engagement and speaking fluency. Digital platforms such as Kahoot, Quizlet, Padlet, and video conferencing applications were used to enhance interactive and collaborative language practice. Observation-based analysis demonstrated that learners actively participated in communicative tasks, employed a wider range of vocabulary, and showed improved speech fluency. Multimedia-supported tasks and adaptive exercises allowed learners to rehearse language in authentic contexts, resulting in increased confidence and spontaneous use of English. The findings highlight that digital tools, when effectively integrated into task-based learning, transform traditional ESL instruction into a learner-centered environment, promoting meaningful communication and oral proficiency development
