This scholarly article investigates the ramifications of artificial intelligence (AI) on human cognitive processes, addressing both enhancement potential and associated risks. Empirical research demonstrates that AI can ameliorate problem-solving efficacy, critical reasoning, mnemonic retention, and creative capacity when employed through interactive and reflective modalities. Conversely, disproportionate reliance on AI may engender cognitive offloading, diminished attentional allocation, reduced memory engagement, and excessive confidence in algorithmic outputs. This investigation delineates strategies for calibrating AI utilization, including critical assessment, reflective synthesis, and ethical deliberation. Findings indicate that judicious integration of AI as a supportive mechanism can potentiate human cognition while attenuating adverse consequences, particularly within educational and knowledge-intensive domains
