Abstract

Gender inequality remains one of the most consequential global challenges, affecting billions of individuals across economic, political, educational, health, and security dimensions. This comprehensive research. examines the multifaceted nature of gender inequality utilizing the latest empirical data from 2024-2025. The World Economic Forum's 2025 Global Gender Gap Report reveals that despite decades of progress, only 68.8% of the global gender gap has closed, with projections indicating 123 years remain to achieve full parity. This study documents substantial disparities across dimensions: women earn only 80.9 cents per dollar of male earnings in the U.S., hold merely 27.2% of parliamentary seats globally, comprise only 28.2% of the STEM workforce, and face an estimated 840 million cases of physical or sexual violence. The research employs intersectional analysis demonstrating how gender inequality compounds with race, class, and disability status to create amplified disadvantages. Examining evidence-based solutions from jurisdictions including Iceland, Rwanda, and Nordic countries, the study identifies concrete policy interventions proven effective. Economic analysis reveals that achieving gender equality by 2050 could generate USD 342 trillion in additional global economic value.
