THE INFLUENCE OF TEACHER FIGURES ON MORAL AND INTELLECTUAL GROWTH IN “THE PROFESSOR”

Abstract

This study explores the influence of teacher figures on the moral and intellectual development of characters in “The Professor.” The research aims to analyze how educators shape ethical values, personal identity, and cognitive growth within the narrative. The object of the study is the novel itself, while the subject focuses specifically on the representation and role of teacher figures in character formation.  The research employs qualitative methods, including textual analysis, character analysis, and interpretative approaches to examine the interactions between teachers and students. Special attention is given to how authority, guidance, and personal example contribute to the protagonist’s development. The scientific novelty of the research lies in its integrated analysis of moral and intellectual development through the lens of teacher-student relationships. The results have both theoretical significance, contributing to literary and pedagogical studies, and practical value for understanding the role of educators in shaping individual development
