THE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING IN UZBEKISTAN

Abstract

This study examines the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and modern digital technologies into English language teaching in Uzbekistan. The research analyses how AI-powered tools such as chatbots, adaptive learning platforms, automated assessment systems, and mobile applications support personalized learning, continuous feedback, and learner autonomy. The paper also considers how national strategies like “Digital Uzbekistan – 2030” and the Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy up to 2030 create favourable conditions for technology-enhanced instruction. Experimental lessons conducted with university students showed improvement in all four language skills and higher motivation compared with traditional teaching. These findings indicate that AI-supported methods can significantly optimize English language learning when combined with appropriate pedagogy, digital infrastructure, and teacher training
