COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF EXCLAMATORY SENTENCES IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK

Abstrak

This article presents a comparative analysis of exclamatory sentences in English and Uzbek. The study aims to identify the structural, semantic, and pragmatic similarities and differences between exclamatory constructions in the two languages. The research examines grammatical patterns, intonation features, and lexical markers that express strong emotions such as surprise, admiration, anger, and excitement. In English, exclamatory sentences are typically formed using structures with what and how, as well as interjections and emphatic word order. In Uzbek, exclamatory meaning is often conveyed through specific particles, word order variation, and expressive vocabulary. The analysis reveals that while both languages use exclamatory sentences to express emotional intensity, they differ significantly in syntactic organization and stylistic devices. The findings of this study contribute to a better understanding of cross-linguistic features and may be useful for language learners, translators, and linguists interested in contrastive studies
