LINGUOCULTURAL FEATURES OF ANTHROPONYMS IN MEDIEVAL LITERATURE

This article explores the linguocultural characteristics of anthroponyms in medieval literature. Anthroponyms in medieval texts function not only as personal identifiers but also as culturally and symbolically loaded linguistic units that reflect religious beliefs, social hierarchy, moral values, and collective worldview of the medieval period. Using a linguocultural and pragmatic approach, the study analyzes how personal names encode cultural information and serve as markers of identity, ideology, and tradition. The findings show that medieval anthroponyms perform nominative, symbolic, evaluative, and ideological functions, contributing significantly to the semantic and cultural structure of literary texts
