TYPES OF GAMES IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND THEIR PEDAGOGICAL PROPERTIES

Games are an important tool for supporting the physical, mental, and social development of students in physical education. The purpose of this study was to classify the main types of games used in physical education lessons into groups and examine their pedagogical aspects and educational value. A descriptive-analytical approach was used in the study, analyzing games based on their purpose, structure, and outcomes. The results showed that active, sport-based, traditional, educational, competitive, developmental, and recreational games make different but unique contributions to students' comprehensive development. The study's findings confirm that the systematic inclusion of various forms of games in physical education curricula is an important factor in enhancing learning effectiveness and increasing student engagement
