This article examines the role of translation as a fundamental mechanism of cross-cultural communication in an increasingly globalized world. It analyzes how translation facilitates the exchange of knowledge, values, and cultural meanings between different linguistic communities, enabling mutual understanding and cooperation. Particular attention is given to the theoretical foundations of translation studies, including equivalence, adequacy, and functional approaches, as well as the translator’s role as a cultural mediator. The article also explores the impact of translation on intercultural dialogue, identity formation, and the transmission of cultural heritage, highlighting challenges such as cultural untranslatability, ideological influence, and pragmatic adaptation. By emphasizing translation as both a linguistic and socio-cultural process, the study demonstrates its significance in fostering intercultural competence and reducing communicative barriers in international, academic, and media contexts
