This article examines the main methods of phonological analysis used in linguistic research to study sound systems and patterns within languages. Phonological analysis plays a crucial role in identifying how speech sounds function, interact, and contribute to meaning differentiation. The study focuses on structural, functional, and distributional approaches that linguists apply to classify phonemes, analyze allophonic variation, and describe phonological rules. Particular attention is given to minimal pair analysis, phonetic transcription, and contrastive analysis as essential tools for identifying phonemic distinctions. The article also discusses the role of feature-based analysis in explaining sound patterns and natural classes, as well as rule-based and constraint-based models that account for sound alternations. These methods help linguists understand how abstract phonological representations are mapped onto actual speech forms. In addition, the article highlights the practical value of phonological analysis in language teaching, speech therapy, and computational linguistics, where accurate sound classification and pattern recognition are essential
