The article Using Interactive Learning Strategies to Improve Speaking Competence in EFL Classrooms examines the effectiveness of learner-centered and communication-based activities in developing students’ oral proficiency in English as a Foreign Language contexts. The study focuses on how structured interaction, peer collaboration, and meaningful speaking tasks contribute to improved fluency, accuracy, and confidence among learners. It emphasizes that speaking competence develops most effectively when students are actively engaged in authentic communicative situations rather than passive language practice. The article analyzes a range of interactive strategies, including role-plays, pair and group discussions, problem-solving tasks, debates, and information-gap activities. These techniques are shown to increasespeaking time, reduce anxiety, and encourage spontaneous language use. The study also discusses the role of teacher facilitation in organizing supportive learning environments where learners feel confident expressing ideas and making mistakes as part of the learning process
