Abstract

This article examines the impact of social media on contemporary language culture. In particular, it analyzes linguistic changes occurring in digital communication, such as the simplification of language, the widespread use of abbreviations, slang, emojis, and informal expressions. The study explores both the positive and negative effects of social media on language culture, including increased communicative efficiency and creativity on the one hand, and the weakening of grammatical norms and standard language usage on the other. Drawing on modern linguistic theories, the article evaluates the role of social media in shaping language practices and cultural communication. The findings highlight the importance of maintaining language norms while adapting to the evolving nature of digital discourse
