This article examines the cognitive and linguistic dimensions of storytelling as an instructional method in foreign language teaching. Storytelling is recognized as an effective pedagogical tool that simultaneously enhances learners’ cognitive skills and language proficiency. Cognitively, storytelling stimulates critical thinking, memory retention, and comprehension by engaging learners in activities such as analyzing plots, interpreting characters’ actions, and predicting narrative outcomes. These processes strengthen problem-solving abilities and promote active mental engagement, which are essential for overall cognitive development in language learners. The article further explores practical strategies for implementing storytelling in foreign language classrooms, such as using age-appropriate narratives, multimedia resources, and role-playing exercises. It emphasizes that integrating cognitive and linguistic aspects into storytelling ensures a holistic learning experience. Ultimately, the study concludes that storytelling is a versatile and effective approach to foreign language teaching, fostering both intellectual growth and language competence
