INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN METHODOLOGIES IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING

Abstract

This article examines the role of instructional design methodologies in English Language Teaching (ELT) and their contribution to improving language learning outcomes. In contemporary language education, instructional design serves as a systematic framework for organizing learning objectives, selecting teaching strategies, and developing effective instructional materials. The study analyzes major instructional design methodologies, including ADDIE, SAM (Successive Approximation Model), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and Design Thinking, highlighting their application in English language classrooms. The article explores how these methodologies support the development of language skills such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Particular attention is given to learner-centered approaches, digital technologies, interactive learning activities, and adaptive instructional strategies that enhance student engagement and language acquisition.
