Abstract

This article explores the artistic language, narrative style, and linguopoetic features of Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel The Remains of the Day. The study analyzes the writer’s unique use of restrained narration, symbolism, irony, and emotional subtext in portraying memory, dignity, loyalty, and personal regret. Particular attention is given to the linguistic and stylistic devices that shape the psychological depth of the protagonist, Stevens, and reflect the social and cultural atmosphere of post-war England. The article also examines the role of implicit meaning, lexical choices, syntactic structures, and narrative techniques in creating the novel’s aesthetic and emotional impact. Through a linguopoetic approach, the research reveals how Ishiguro combines simplicity of language with profound philosophical and emotional content, making the novel a significant example of contemporary English literature
