STRATEGIC RESILIENCE DURING GEOPOLITICAL CRISES

Abstract

In the context of accelerating globalization and increasing geopolitical instability, states and international organizations are facing unprecedented strategic challenges. Geopolitical crises—such as armed conflicts, economic sanctions, political confrontations, cyber warfare, and energy disruptions—pose multidimensional risks to national sovereignty, economic sustainability, and social stability. Under such conditions, strategic resilience has become a fundamental framework for understanding how political systems, economies, security institutions, and societies can effectively respond to external shocks. This article explores the concept of strategic resilience during geopolitical crises and examines its role as a long-term adaptive strategy rather than a short-term crisis response mechanism. The study analyzes the key dimensions of strategic resilience, including political and institutional stability, economic adaptability, security and defense preparedness, and societal cohesion. Particular attention is given to the importance of anticipatory governance, diversification of economic structures, integrated security strategies, and public trust in institutions. Furthermore, the article highlights the growing significance of innovation, digital resilience, and international cooperation in strengthening national and regional resilience capacities. By adopting a holistic and proactive approach, states can mitigate vulnerabilities, maintain strategic autonomy, and ensure continuity of governance and development during periods of geopolitical turbulence. The findings of this study suggest that strategic resilience is not merely a defensive concept but a transformative tool that enables countries to convert crises into opportunities for sustainable growth and strategic advantage in an uncertain global order
