THE ROLE OF ART IN PROTECTING ADOLESCENTS FROM INFORMATION AND PSYCHOLOGICAL INFLUENCES

Abstract

In the context of contemporary globalization, rapid digitalization, and the intensive expansion of mass communication, the problem of protecting adolescents from information-psychological influences has acquired not only pedagogical and psychological, but also profound socio-philosophical significance. Adolescence represents a particularly sensitive stage of personality development, during which worldview, value orientations, self-awareness, behavioral patterns, and social identity are actively formed. Consequently, the information environment surrounding adolescents may become both a source of intellectual and cultural development and a mechanism through which destructive ideas, manipulative messages, aggressive behavioral models, consumerist orientations, and psychologically destabilizing content are disseminated. U. Qodirov, examining the problem of youth information-psychological security under globalization, emphasizes that “the worldview, beliefs, values and convictions of a child are primarily formed within the family,” thereby characterizing the family as an important spiritual and moral protective environment. This position is particularly significant from a socio-philosophical perspective because it demonstrates that protection from harmful information cannot be reduced to technical restrictions or administrative control; rather, it requires the formation of an internally stable value system capable of critically interpreting external influences. At the same time, the contemporary information space has become substantially more complex: social networks, digital platforms, audiovisual content, algorithms, and virtual communities have transformed the traditional boundaries of cultural and ideological influence. Therefore, the protection of adolescents should increasingly be understood as the development of their intellectual, emotional, aesthetic, and moral capacity to distinguish constructive cultural content from manipulative or destructive messages
