REALIZATION OF TEMPORAL AND ASPECTUAL SEMANTICS IN NARRATIVE STRUCTURES: A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF ENGLISH AND UZBEK

This article investigates the realization of temporal and aspectual semantics in narrative structures through a comparative analysis of English and Uzbek. The study focuses on the organization of events in narrative discourse, the internal development of actions, and the role of tense and aspect categories in shaping textual meaning. Particular attention is paid to the ways in which temporal relations and aspectual distinctions contribute to the coherence and communicative effectiveness of narrative texts. Similarities and differences between the grammatical aspect system of English and the predominantly analytical aspectual means of Uzbek are examined through illustrative examples. The findings demonstrate that temporal and aspectual semantics are fundamental components of narrative organization and play a crucial role in ensuring textual integrity and logical consistency
