In the modern educational context, self-study has emerged as a crucial component of English language learning. The increasing availability of digital resources, online platforms, and autonomous learning tools has transformed the way learners acquire language skills. This article explores the effectiveness of self-study in learning English by examining theoretical foundations, learner-related factors, learning strategies, and empirical findings from previous studies. The paper argues that self-study significantly enhances language proficiency when learners possess strong motivation, self-regulation skills, and access to appropriate resources.
