Abstract

This article examines the potential of AI-assisted conversation practice as an innovative approach to improving learners’ speaking fluency in English. With the growing integration of artificial intelligence into language education, interactive conversational tools—such as AI chatbots, virtual speaking partners, and automated feedback systems—offer new opportunities for personalized, scalable, and engaging oral practice. The study highlights how these technologies help learners overcome common barriers to speaking, including limited exposure to real-life communication, anxiety during face-to-face interaction, and insufficient corrective feedback. Through a review of recent research and practical classroom applications, the article demonstrates that AI-driven conversation platforms can significantly enhance fluency by increasing speaking time, promoting spontaneous language use, and providing immediate, data-driven feedback on pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammatical accuracy. Additionally, the adaptive nature of AI systems allows them to adjust conversation topics and difficulty levels based on individual learner needs
