MAIN SKILLS FOR DEVELOPING COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE IN RUSSIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Abstract

This article examines the central role of speaking in teaching Russian as a foreign language (RFL). Emphasizing communicative and integrated approaches, it highlights the importance of oral skill development for achieving overall communicative competence. The study explores pedagogical strategies such as role-plays, situational simulations, task-based activities, and technology-enhanced practice, showing how they foster fluency, accuracy, and confidence. Integration with listening, reading, and writing reinforces linguistic knowledge and facilitates meaningful communication. Assessment methods and feedback strategies are also discussed to promote learner engagement and self-directed improvement
